8 Years Strong

Yesterday was mine and Josh's 8th Anniversary. We always joke that we can't believe it's already been 8 years, but also can't believe it's only been 8 years! We've had both times of bumpy rides and smooth sailing on this crazy journey called marriage, that's for sure! How do you write a post about somebody who has seen you at your best and your worst? Still though, I'd like to take a minute to say I'm thankful for my amazing, wonderful, hot husband. There's nobody else I can fight like crazy with, love like crazy with, and laugh like crazy with. We're so opposite sometimes it can blow your mind, and yet we fit together like a puzzle. Where I'm weak, he's strong, and vice versa. We drive each other nuts but we can make each other laugh and isn't that what's most important? There's nobody else I'd want to navigate through this crazy life with and I couldn't ask for a better partner. I love you babe! (even though you'll never read this...or will you?)

Samuel's First Birthday

My sweet little baby is already one?! How did this happen? Samuel's birthday was pretty low-key. No huge party, not a lot of people to celebrate with. But he still had a pretty fun day, at least I hope so! He took his first step the day before, earlier than my older boys, they didn't even think about walking until about 14 months!

Insanity

It all starts out as something little, something that doesn't seem that weird or crazy. But then one day you realize, you have lost your mind. You do things for no apparent reason. Things that other people look at you for and think, "Wow, she's nuts."

Case in point:
A regular grocery bag.

Folded in fourths.

Rolled up.

And tied.

Why you ask? Well, so I can turn all of this:

For no apparent reason.

Runnin' from the law

So yesterday I was driving along, and I must've been in LaLa Land. Because I went to switch lanes, and almost hit a COP!!! What is the matter with me lately? I am not having good luck on the road. I swear I checked my blind spot but no, there he was, RIGHT next to me and literally had to swerve into the middle lane to avoid me. He honked, went in front of me.........................AND KEPT GOING! He didn't even pull me over. I could not believe it.

Anyway, after that happened I meekly went back into the right hand lane and started going 5 under the speed limit. Suddenly J.J. pipes up from the backseat:

"Mommy? Are you hiding from the cops?"
"No, baby." (Mommy is just having a mild heart attack right now.)
"Are we going to run from the cops?"
"No, honey."

Where does he come up with this stuff?

College Tribute

I've been thinking a lot lately about my college days. Mostly because my little sister is thinking about going to the same school I did, BYU. She's just 15 now but I really hope she follows through and does it. I have another sister who got married at 18 and although I absolutely love her husband, I wish she would've been able to experience single life in college. I've also been thinking about those days because I recently got back in contact with a REALLY good friend and former roommate. We've been emailing back and forth reminiscing about the good ole days. I had a lot of amazing experiences while at school, some good and some bad. I learned so much during those years, both academically and about life in general. I made friends I know I'll have for life. We did so many funny things together. Here's a photo tribute to my days at the Y.

It's weird to think of all the different places we are in our lives now. Some people I've kept in contact with, others I haven't. I have a million pictures of the college days, these are just a few that I chose because they include my long lost Zil who I have finally gotten in contact with again!

Boy Flowers

These are the "flowers" that my son picked for me today. Aren't they lovely? And he told me not to throw them away after they die, because the bugs outside can use them as brooms.

I'm White Trash.

It's official. I just did a Brittney Spears. I drove down my street with my almost 1 yr. old sitting on my lap. Trey, who is 3 1/2 and STILL not potty-trained pooped his pants at preschool so I had to go to his school and "take care of it" in a hurry. It was 10 houses down the street people, give me a break!! (Samuel had the time of his life by the way...)
