I have no interesting stories, pictures, or subjects to blog about today. But it's been a really long time since my last blog and I know people are going to stop checking mine soon if I don't step up!
So let's see here...what has been going on the last three weeks... The kids had Spring Break, which was long, boring, and made me really start dreading summer vacation. That sounds terrible, I know. Last summer I had B in a great summer half day camp through the city parks & rec for 8 weeks, which he absolutely LOVED, and which was dirt cheap. I had planned on putting both B and T in the same program this year, but the price has QUINTUPLED since last year! Needless to say...it is not a possibility anymore. Looks like I'll be signing them up for 8 weeks of swimming lessons instead. At least it will get them out of the house so they don't go stir-crazy...but it is guaranteed to give me daily migraines.
We painted our family room last month, finally, after living here for 6 years! I do not know why we didn't do this sooner. It makes a HUGE difference to our house! Next we plan on painting the kitchen/dining area. Pictures will be posted someday, but please don't hold your breath.
Last weekend my computer died. It got a fatal virus, in the form of my 18 month old. Granted, it had been making some strange noises and a couple times a week it would shut off out of nowhere with the "blue screen of death", and I'd lose unsaved work, etc. But I still held onto the hope that it would last another year. The final straw was when S snuck around me and pulled the plug, literally. The stupid thing never turned back on! After a couple hours J was finally able to start it in "safe mode" and we were able to salvage all our pictures and my transcription work (thank goodness). But this meant that Monday morning, I drove around to CompUSA, Staples, Wal-Mart, and Best Buy looking for a deal. Let me tell you how much fun it is to drag 3 crazy hyper boys into Best Buy, to buy a computer. It is NOT fun, not at all. But I think I set some sort of record on how fast you can walk into Best Buy, look at all the computers, pick the best one in your price range, and checkout. 10 minutes.
Which brings me to my next topic. I HATE HATE HATE Windows Vista. It has been nothing but problems! I seriously don't know what I'd do without J. Thank goodness my husband knows how to deal with computers, or we'd be screwed.
Oh! One exciting thing, J turned the big 3-0 last Friday! Finally my boys can stop telling everyone we know that Mommy is 30 but Daddy is only 29... haha!
Well, this will end the most boring post ever on this blog. Hopefully I'll have some interesting ones in the future. After all, my boys never stops saying crazy things, all I need to do is write them down so I don't forget them. For example, when my boys go pee in the potty they tell me they're "making lemonade". And let's not forget that on April Fool's Day, B told me, "Mommy, I destroyed the house, the cops took me to jail, and then I punched them! ....April Fool's!!!" I'm laughing about it now but will I be laughing in 10 years?

I Have The Power!!!
A couple weeks ago, we lost our satellite TV and DVR. It was a sad sad day for me. I had no idea how attached I was until it was gone. I would love to say that we haven't been watching as much TV, but sadly this is not the case. Instead, we've been introducing our boys to some of the classics. Classic cartoons, that is. For example, my all-time favorite when I was a child:
Why can't cartoons be as great as they were back in the day? Anyway, we've had some good laughs reliving these shows. I find it VERY disturbing though, that I can remember so much of this show! I mean, I watched this show when I was 5. In fact, for my 5th birthday I distinctly remember getting a He-Man sword, shield, and a record of the songs! Yikes. And here it is, 20-25 years since I've seen this show, and I remember in great detail what is going to happen next in a few of these episodes.
What can I say...I guess I've always liked a man with muscles!

We Do What We Can
Valentine's Day was pretty low-key. I surprised J with a gourmet romantic dinner when he got home from jiu jitsu Friday night. We first kissed on Feb. 13th, so I guess you can consider it "our" Valentine's Day.
Yes, that is a frozen pizza. But hey, it's Digiorno! Fancy frozen pizza! And yes, it's at our counter because we don't have a dining room table, and yes, that's a high chair in the background. Like I said, we do what we can!
I like to make even the little holidays special for my boys. It's the little things that I know they will remember when they grown. We always have pancakes on Saturday morning but I made them pink and heart-shaped for the special day.
Then I started a new tradition, where I will bake and decorate each of my boys their own special giant cookie for Valentine's Day. Hopefully my decorating skills will improve as the years go on... Oh well, they were delicious and that's what matters right?
We also had popcorn in Valentine bowls for a snack.
Did I overdo it?

Got another one for you
Okay so I know the little stories about me being absent-minded might be getting old, but this one really is hilarious.
My family has a hard time getting to church on time. We just cannot seem to get out the door on time, no matter what time we start getting ready. We have 8:00 A.M. church, and while this may seem early to some, it is not so early to us. My boys get up by 6:30 A.M. every morning, rain or shine, weekday or weekend. So 8:00 church should NOT be a problem right? Wrong.
So today I decided my #1 goal would be: Get To Church On Time.
I set my alarm for 5:45, showered, dressed, makeup done, did my hair by the time the boys got up. Got them dressed, hair done, and fed. Got S up, changed, dressed, fed. Packed bag of quiet things to do during church, complete with snacks and drinks for the boys. Got my lesson and items I needed for my lesson all ready to go. Nagged J so he was ready on time. Load all boys and bags in the van. Drive to church.
Now by this time, I am feeling VERY proud of myself. We are not only on time, but 5 minutes early as we're pulling into the parking lot! This is when it hits me. Something is wrong. I look down.
Dress? Check.
Hair done? Check.
Makeup? Check.
Sweater? Check.
Nylons? Check.
Shoes? ..............uh oh.
I'm wearing my HOUSE SLIPPERS.
Drop off J, B, and T. Drive home. Get appropriate shoes. Drive back. End result? My family was indeed, on time. Early, in fact. I, on the other hand, was 10 minutes late.
(Valentine's post will hopefully be coming soon.)

I'm Runnin' Down a Dream
Things have been a little bit crazy this week. I got the opportunity to take on a special project at work that pays a lot better, but is a lot more work than I normally do. Of course I jumped at the chance and I'm glad I did. I've made more money in one week than I normally do in a month! My fingers are protesting though, so far I've typed 423 pages and still counting... Well, a couple years from now when I've hopefully saved enough money for J and I to FINALLY go to Hawaii on a real honeymoon...I will be grateful. Until then, you will probably be hearing more about the life and times of a transcriptionist.
Because of all the extra work, my house and kids are falling apart! Not really, but the "Mommy guilt" has been in full force, more than it normally is. Examples? Well, T always tells me at night what he's going to dream about. It's a fun little thing I do with my boys so they will think of happy things before they go to sleep. Anyway, tonight I take a break from working to go and kiss T good-night, and he says to me, "Mommy, guess what I'm going to dream tonight? I'm going to dream that you are done with your work!" Oh the guilt...the horrible guilt.
All this work has also taken a toll on my poor brain. Examples? Monday morning I'm trying to catch up on laundry and cleaning the kitchen while B is at school. Once a month on Monday I volunteer in B's Kindergarten class, and my neighbor watches my younger two boys. Anyway I'm rushing around speed cleaning the kitchen and noticed the calendar was still on January. So I flipped it to February and practically have a heart-attack. I had written I was supposed to volunteer that day, and needed to be at the school in 10 minutes! I call my neighbor in what I'm sure was an incoherent panic, and she tells me I had emailed her last week that I was supposed to volunteer on the 9th, not the 2nd. Okay, now I can breathe. I hang up in relief, but still have to go trash digging to find the flyer just to make sure. Yup, crisis averted, I don't have to help until next week. I really hate being a flake.
Then, just 45 minutes later, I am supposed to go pick B up from school. I can't find my keys, and am running around like crazy searching for them high and low. I decide to forget it, grab the spare keys, grab my 2 boys, and rush out to the van. Hurriedly buckle them in (those dang car seats are so complicated sometimes!), only to discover my keys are IN THE IGNITION!!!
Sadly the rest of the week has not improved. Guess what I'm going to dream about tonight? Hawaii.

Tubes Rock
T got his second set of tubes put in today. I didn't have any worries this time, since this is the second time we've done this and he's older now. He made instant friends with all the nurses by talking their ears off from the second we walked in the door. It was kind of sad to see him when they brought him out to me, just waking up from being put out, and he was just quiet, confused, and cuddly! Hopefully this will stop the ear infections again.
Since we're on a post about T, I'll write another crazy thing he said to a perfect stranger yesterday. A guy came to our door with the company Edward Jones trying to get us to invest in retirement, blah blah blah. (Don't they know the world will end before then anyway? Sheesh.)
Anyway, of course T saw fresh meat and immediately started talking his ear off, and also showing off his muscles. Then he asks this man if he has muscles too. So the guy was a good sport and flexed for T. Then T says, "Oh, you have little muscles, my Daddy has bigger muscles than you!"
Random question for the day: Why is Facebook so addicting?
